I've been doing a bunch of night snorkeling in the San Marcos River trying to get some good photos of these guys, and hoping to get a photo of an eel.

Good shots for being the San Marcos river. I used to help occassionally in the annual river clean-up with my old scuba club and the visibility can certainly get ugly quick...not to mention that's a really cold river. If you look closely enough, you can usually find all kinds of cool stuff that people have lost, too.

I usually try to go later in the night so that it's had some time to clear up since there aren't that many crazy people that are willing to swim in the river at night! Visibility is horrible on weekends because of all the people, so I usually go out during the week.

These prawns are very cool! This one is a medium sized one (about 12" from tip of claws to tail). There is a larger one that I've been seeing that is easily about 20" from tip of claws to tail! It's the size of a lobster!
