I am shooting with a Nikon D100 with a 105mm macro lens in a Nexus underwater housing. Also a sea and sea YS-300 strobe. I am currently living in Xcalak Mexico and in my spare time have been getting back into underwater photography after about a 4 year dry spell. Here is another shot with the same setup. Enjoy!!

How far away? I didn't think octupus let you get that close without getting jittery.

I was shooting from about 1-1/2 feet away. You have to stay very still and quiet and after awhile everything around you gets used to you. I had been shooting something else for about 10 minutes when he appeared. Sometimes I have stayed in one position for over half an hour and everything gets so used to you they get too close to shoot. Have had fish swimming between me and the camera and actually get in the way of a shoot. Will post more in a couple days.

Very nice shots!

I really enjoy underwater shots but I haven't done any in almost 30 years.

Keep them coming!
