Well, these are a couple of pics from a trip I did last year to Dos Ojos (two eyes) cenote in the Yucatan. A cenote is a fresh-water filled cave created by millions of years of underground streams and rain runoff slowly dissolving the soft limestone. So what you get is basically Carlsbad Cavern underwater. The visibility is typically 300 feet or more (as far as your light will go) and it is literally clearer underwater than where you are sitting reading this now. The pics aren't all that impressive, but what was cool was that I caught the salinity layer in the one shot. (Where fresh water meets salt water, it makes a little hazy line).
The great thing about shooting in a cenote is that there is ZERO particles in the water to scatter your light. So everything just looks like it's floating. Remember, these shots are about 40 feet under water!
