Taken at the aquarium in West End, Dallas.

If y'all haven't been there, it's pretty neat, but also fairly pricy- check rates before you pop in.

and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.

Hey man there's no fun in staying dry while photographin em, but that's an awesome shot I know its fuzzy, that's cuz it's a digital image of the developed film of a disposable waterproof camera (we're not gonna talk about how I broke my camera right before the waterproof case arrived in the mail). This was taken from about 10 feet away from what appeared to be about a good 6-ft black tip reef shark. This was 10 miles off of Key West.

That's about as close as I plan to get to sharks, unless they're on a plate. I'm more of a land-person.

Cool shot, Stephen--I like how you got the other aquarium-goers involved in the picture.

That's my daughter reaching for the ceiling, FYI, not some random stranger- I'm a bit hesitant to shoot right in the face of someone I don't know like that.

Diving with sharks is fun as long as you know what you are doing. I did a trip off Coronado many years ago with San Diego Shark Diving Expeditions. I have the video on Hi-8 and need to get it transferred to digital one of these days. I had a nice size blue bump the housing when I had it outside the cage. My coolest experience was at 100' off San Salvador Island in the Bahamas. a nice 8-10' hammer head solo cruised by my wife and I on the wall. A strange but beautiful sight when you are in their home

a very strange but beautiful sight indeed. I was in about 10 feet of water and was in amazement of all the barracuda, there were a handful within eyesight and in every crevice of the reef i swam in there were more. Some of those suckers were pushin what looked to be 4 feet. The shark came literally from out of the blue, lol. I was stunned and had that quick adrenaline rush. Good thing nobody can notice when you lose bowel control underwater...at least the #1 It didn't take long to realize that he was by himself and he wasn't paying me any attention. Good thing too because I was about 100 yards out from the boat. I shouted "holy sh!t" to myself and in the same breath picked up the camera and took a shot. That's when I lost my mind.

I let the air out of my vest and dove down and began to follow the shark, taking more pics of him. All I could think was "nobody will ever believe this unless I get these shots." I only managed to follow him for about 10 seconds, but it was the wierdest 10 seconds of my life.
