I had originally posted these mingled with some land shots in Nature & Wildlife, so I thought I would separate them out now that we have our own sub-forum. No major equipment here...just my Oly SP-350:

Nice shots.....I will be there next month....how do things look topside. Is the landscape still brown and ugly....any of the vegetation coming back after hurricane? I was there last Feb. and it looked bad.

We didn't spend much time in town so I can't really say what has changed there, but the resort we were in (Occidental Allegro) has made a lot of changes since I was there 2 years before. I had heard that several other resorts have used the past year as an opportunity to upgrade also. I saw some dead foliage here and there along the beach, but there was alot of green too. It rained quite a bit while we were there, so it was hard to appreciate the scenery as we would have liked to. I really expected the reefs to show more damage. I had heard that the shallower areas took it pretty hard. Alot of the reefs I saw while diving had a light blanket of sand covering them, but the dives were still very enjoyable. I'm thinking you're going to see a big change from your last visit in February.

LOL! What's that last one? The crab snagged your UK Kinetics light?

Hehe, no...that was our divemaster harassing a crab on a night dive. The light is dangling off his wrist. I've never actually messed with the creatures myself, but he came across this thing and just flipped it up like a little kid and pointed at my camera. It was the biggest crab I've ever seen first-hand, so I couldn't let it go uncaptured. I would say stretched out, it was probably about 5 feet across.
