Wanted to use: Heated Pool - 01-24-2007, 10:01 AM

Hi Gang,

If anyone in the Houston area has a heated pool that I can use for some photography please sing out! I'm trying to set up an underwater photoshoot with some professional dancers, but all the pools I have used in the past are not heated. Brrrr!!!

If anyone is open to letting me into their pool, I'd be happy to sign all the appropriate waivers, pay some of the gas bill etc.

Please let me know if you can help me out. If you're an underwater photographer, you're welcome to take some pix too.

Cheers
James

James,

Have you checked with some of the dive shops like Scuba Houston? They have an indoor pool that I have used for equipment checkout before.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the tip. I've done a small photo workshop at one of the Dive Shop's pool, and found that the water clarity isn't acceptable for a photoshoot.

Cheers

Good point. What water depth do you need? Do you shoot in the evening or during daylight hours and when are you looking at needing the pool? I may have a couple of options if you don't mind driving to the west side of town.

Cool! Blacked out in the evening is typically best, although afternoon into evening is good too. Water depth starts at "shallow end" and the shots get better as the depth gets deeper. Most shots can be done in the shallow end. As for the timeframe, it would not be until early March.

Thanks for helping out Rick! West side is fine by me.

James,
I've got a pool in Austin, pretty big pool (60 ft), 6 ft in deep end. I'm setting up to do a shoot there in the spring. Let me know if you want to use it.

We live at 59 and Beltway 8...if you pay to heat the pool you can use it..about $150...we have lights at night that change colors if you need them..35,000 gallon pool..pretty good sized. (that would be on the north side!!!)
