Post plenty of pictures - I've never been underwater (pools don't count) so I always enjoy looking at underwater shots.

Man oh man, how I wish I had that last week....

here is what I was able to do through the window only (but I have some memories of seeing it live though). I have a few of those, but technically I'm afraid to show them to anybody. They serve as a reminder to be better equipped next time.

Location: Great Barrier Reef, off of northeast coast of Queensland, Australia.

Got this kit in preparation for my move to santa barbara.

This kit with the FE port was just around 2k.. while it is only rated for about 20' it is very resistant to the shock that is brought on by shooting surfer's. Just being in the wrong position and having the wave come down on top of you can cause some pretty decent dmg to a less sturdy housing. Since it is made out of aluminum it is also very light weight at about 4 lbs, which for underwater and diving isnt a big deal, but surfing weight can make a difference in stamina as you hold your arm out of the wave.

I will be using this housing exclusively for surfing, water sports pools and maybe some snorkling.

Should be a ton of fun once I get out to Santa Barbara, I leave on the 5th of july.

Also plan to get a pocket wizard housing for the camera, and a leg mount flash housing for the surfers I shoot.

Going to galveston with a few friends this weekend to give it a tiny test run. I have already submerged it once and then went through and did after shoot maintenence just so I know what I am doing once I give it a real run for its money.

Oh and dont worry, once I get goin, I will be sure to post a crap ton of pics.

It's spl, some of the most used Splash Housings. Made specifically for surf photography. So far I am loving it.

As for the port, you can remove the plates and go in through there with the proper pieces.

Oh and they are all custom made by SPL.

And it is well worth the 2k, it is built like a tank. I can't imagine trying to take anything less into the surf. I have been hit by a couple 12' waves without issues.
