Great shots! Played around with the WB a bit - hope you don't mind. What did you shoot these with? (Rig / housing / lens / strobe?)

Shot him with a Nikon D100 with a 105mm macro lens in a Nexus housing. 2 YS 300 strobes. These Blennies usually occur in groups so when you find a group you lay down in front of their hole and wait for them to pop up. Spent about a hour with this first group and only got a couple of good shots. They are quick! Most of the pics the fin was blurred because it was moving so fast. I plan on going after them again later. Will post more shots as I get them.

These guys were real shallow,4 to 8 feet. That gives me 2 to 3 hours off my tank. I have been doing a lot of photography in the shallow bay. More weird stuff there then on the dive sites!

Thanks for the comments! My book has him down as a green clinging crab but so many of these critters have more then one name I cant keep up with them. Is conch mating season and I caught these two chasing across the sand the other day.

Enjoy!

The crab is Mithrax sculptus - they eat bubble algae and other algae.

Those conchs are cool. High speed chase eh? :-)

Cheers
James
