Houston Model Jwels G - 07-18-2007, 09:13 AM

Hi Gang,

I think these are probably G-rated enough (or at least PG-13) so I can post here :-)

These are from a shoot last Friday with Julie G - a Houston model:

Comments and critiques much appreciated. Is the background lame in the under/over shots? Should I just tighten it next time???

Julie had a lot of skills as an underwater model - I wish I had had more time to shoot with her, but she had to run off to host an event after our shoot. Now that's stamina!

Cheers
James

james, you asked for critique, so ill let you have it

i think you should take an iron to the background and tighten it to remove the wrinkles. i noticed that right away. maybe try lighting it from the back with a colored light to give a sunset look or something??? Pic 1 her head looks huge, pic 2 her legs little big proportionaly (expected with the water magnifying it though). Also on the underwater shots, they look a little over exposed on my camera. Did you use a diffuser on the strobes?

This is just an amatuers opinions though!

Thanks for the feedback Justin.

Yes, I used diffusers on the strobes, but they don't do much for above water shooting.

Cheers

OK, I re-processed these now that I have my new monitor - it seems like it calibrated better.

Also for Justin - check out this setup - can't wait to use these 2 next shoot:

Cheers

whoa! i do like that light setup. you think i could use my 125s as some studio lights? wont be super powerful, but would be very portable and cheap considering i already have the strobes. and im assuming they run via a slave rather than a sync cord? i may have to come check that out.

That is an awsome idea. I'll have to try it with my 125s also.

I don't ever come to this neck of the woods, but I've seen a couple of your posts and you finally nailed that first shot. Love the look of the model and the lighting. Congrats! I love the wide angle look as well.
