Okay.. thousands of dollars...and it all comes down to making sure a 25 cent o ring is properly seated....or you lose 5 grand in equipment...

Deep breath - okay, I can put this together....really... I went to college...

Plane leaves at 5:30am for the dive destination - after I figure out how to put it together....I have to figure out how to PACK it....

This is one of those times when I love my bathtub! My camera uses it more than I do.
Can't wait to see the results!

Think of it as a couple of opportunities:

• A grand lesson in double- and triple-checking your equipment
• A chance to upgrade in case something goes awry

I agree with James and Coby ... never dive uninsured. I have used DEPP though, luckily, I have never had to file a claim. Their website is here.

It is not a matter of if you will flood, just a matter of when.

Good bubbles to you.

Called DEPP three times this week and left messages, no response. Tried to sign up on their www site, but my expiration date on my debit card is 2014 - which their signup page doesn't go up to (2012 only) - filled it out, and asked rep to call me. Nothing.

Hmmm ... Very interesting. After seeing your message, I went and did a quick comparison of the two policies. I had not looked closely at DAN's policy before. After doing so, I would be more inclined to go with DAN, though I have been happy with DEPP in the past. Also, make sure you have dive insurance to cover you. Deco chambers are very expensive and the need to use them turns up at the most inconvenient time.

Best to you and post pictures when you get back.

Yeah, Sandy at DEPP will get back to you ... eventually. I like DEPP because they will cover you if you have to ditch your camera, or if it falls overboard. DAN only covers your for floor or theft I believe.

If you want another option, you can get Inland Marine insurance through The Hartford. I use them for my liability insurance - through the agent suggested on here for photographers. Can't remember the name right now.

I remember - it's called Package Choice and they sell Inland Marine. You can insure all your gear through them against everything. That's who Norb Wu uses.

Cheers

Well, got back and have two threads up - wreck and critter shots - camera performed well, no flooding issues, although shooting with a 10.5mm takes a bit of practice.. I much preferred the 12-24...
