Wicked slo-mo effect! : Twixtor - 09-16-2010, 08:33 AM

Ran across this site by total accident this morning.Shooting 1,000fps Video With a Canon 7D
The thing that caught my eye was using an effect to mimic changing your FPS from 60fps HD up to 1000fps.
The Tsixtor site is here.

Very awesome. I'm going to have to play around with this.

There's also a video of someone using this on cinema5d that I saw.

That truly turns a video into a work of art. Darn expensive, but darn good.

Thanks much for posting the link.

I dont have it, but is sure looks to be one of the better slo-mo effects out there that doesnt butcher the quality of the original while it fills the time gaps of the actual frame rate.

There is one that I noticed, is that around the bike rider is this weird distortion with it. If you look closely around the biker when he is out of the blown out sky ... especially at the end with the stairs, you can see it.

I played with the demo of Twixtor and it's pretty cool. But you really need to have the right footage for it to work well. Busy backgrounds and unstable camera will cause some really funky warping.

Yep, there's a lot more more too it than just loading after effects and selecting the plugin.
