5D2 Video - Nice clip - 06-08-2009, 05:05 PM

There are more and more of these very polished videos showing up. But I thought I'd share this link for those that may be interested in seeing how a 5D2 when used with great technique and lenses can really make for a film-like cinematic look.

Be sure and watch it full screen too.. Keep in mind this video is only 720P and compressed with VIMEO. The full 1080P via blue ray or native CODEC would look even better.

This is not my video, but I thought it was pretty nicely done.

A few more listed here are quite nice too...

I thought it looked amazing! Seeing things like that make me want the 5D mkII even more. Who wouldn't want to go on a (free) vacation like that in exchange for creating that. Amazing place.

Do you have the camera Andrew? Any videos you made?

That was really cool, but how did that helicopter not CRASH?!?!?! The main rotor on that chapper was only spinning at like 20 RPM!!!! Watch it expecially at about the 5:45 mark...

So confused...

On another note...a trip like that looks like it would cost an arm and a leg..

I'm not a video person, but the shallow DOF that the film makers are getting from these is stunning.

Yeah... www.cinema5D.com

Pretty interesting stuff.

As far as videos that I have shot with 5D.. Nothing super complicated, and nothing since the new firmware that allows for manual exposure. I did shoot a short film for a writer/editor... He just took my raw footage and edited it to send to a film festival.. Don't have a link for it though. It was very cumbersome to shoot with and it was my first time using the 5D for such a thing.

I also shot a Lighting instructional DVD with Kevin Jairaj (again, before I could effectively deal with exposure...worked ok overall). I am ready to try something new now that this firmware is out.

I have a few really REALLY simple clips at my vimeo site... Nothing to write home about...Mainly little test clips (including one of my lens getting destroyed at a NHL game). LOL

That's really cool. In scene two of that video where the guy is talking sitting in front of the boat, it looked like a moving, talking photo! The bokeh was so smooth and isolating! Awesome stuff...

And yeah, that chopper looked pretty funny, like the blades were in slo-mo floating.

Oh please.....we all know that the video option on DSLR's are just a gimicky feature for amateurs.

Or a very useful tool for the gifted and talented. But the people that say the first statement are nether of the latter.

My first comment wasn't very coherent.
But I love the videos coming out from the 5DII.
