Slow Motion Video - 03-10-2011, 12:28 PM

I am interested in purchasing an HD camcorder that will also be able to record and playback slow motion video I can use to help my son improve his baseball batting swing and also his pitching mechanics. In addition to the normal duties such as vacation video and sporting events. I am considering the Panasonic tm 700k, the Canon hf s21, hf s 30 and possibly the newly announced sony models.
Any suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated.

You might look at the Casio EX-F1. It shoots up to 1200 fps, but at a terrible resolution. It has lots of modes, so you might find one that has enough speed and resolution to suit your needs.

Another approach would be to take something like a GoPro that shoots 60fps well and use software to slow down the footage. Most video editors can slow down footage. The results won't be beautiful, but they'll probably be OK for training. If you want them to look good, try Twixtor to slow the footage down.
