GOPro HD Hero Test Video - 03-11-2011, 12:12 AM

I picked up a little GoPro HD camera recently to play with for a few projects so decided to take it for a spin with some friends when we went out to play Whirly Ball last weekend.

Here is a little 3 minute video from the game, there is alot more footage but haven't gone through to edit into a highlight reel yet.

Whirly Ball GoPro Hero HD Test on Vimeo

Pretty amazing video for a $300 camera, has it's uses for sure.

Plan on using it for a few motorcycle rides and some car stuff in the near future.

The indoor performance looks pretty impressive. How is the mounting equipment? Does it feel secure and light enough for you?

The mounting equipment is SOLID! I mounted my GP to the top of my SUV this past summer and put it though a beating of a hail storm. The case and mounting hardware are definitely tough!

I can agree with the case and mounting being great.

I have used a GoPro from a friend of mine when I AutoX my car and it's awesome for that application.

These are awesome cameras for the cost.

Nice Whirly Ball ... now I have to see if they have a place like that here in Houston.

I also recently purchased the GoPro Hero. I have had a lot of fun with it.

I was wondering if you have done any editing to the footage that you've taken. Moviemaker doesn't recognize the GoPro file extension. Any ideas?

Neat camera and good quality video, might have to look into one of those for work.

And I think we need a Whirley Ball TPF meetup!

Sorry for the late response Joe, there are a ton of different mounting kits. I used the head mount kit and it was light and not really noticeable with my baseball cap on.

I want to try our next outing with the suction cup mount on the car itself and see how it does. I have tried the suction cup on a regular car and it's awesome but no one was purposefully ramming me either.

Think about Twixtor if you want to get better slow motion effects.

You guys also might check out Contour >> GPS Video Camera, HD Helmet Camera, and Video Community I find there units a bit more practical, they also have alot of different mounting options.. I have both the GPS and Non GPS and they just released a way to use it and adjust withthe Iphone.
