I shot and edited a music video for a friend let me know what you think

Shot with a Sony Alpha 55 using a 50mm lens at F/1.4
Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CS5

Footage looks good.

As for content ... I think you need more motion in your camera work. Rap/R&B videos are more appealing with a bit of motion. Static shots just seem to plain.

The guys with the black tie and hat, isn't fully insync with the music.

A few more shots to tell a story would also help.

But again, the footage looks good. And I do believe in using Sticks for video, but some motion would be nice too.

Was this your first? And since you have Adobe CS5 ... you should do some added flare in After Effects.

Thanks, Yea this is the first music video I have done and it was a last last minute thing. I got a phone call and went, so their wasn't much planing other than making up the shots as I went along also I never heard the song before the shoot either so I had no clue in the beginning. I will hopefully get more heads up for the next one so I can plan it out before I start shooting.

When people come to me with a quick jump to make a video ... I almost always sit with them first and get an idea before just plain jumping in.

Did you edit it as well?

yea I directed, shot, and edited it by myself. As far as the jumping in it was night and i was bored and didn't have anything to do anyway so i was like lets do this
