Wireless DSLR monitor

This is pretty nifty. The lcd on the back of the camera is pathetic when shooting videos so this thing can be quite handy.. esp cos its wireless.

It basically takes the video or still photo feed from any DSLR camera or video camera and sends it wirelessly to a seven inch or 10″ portable, battery powered monitor.

I have seen wireless Monitors for video before, but they are mainly for reference. Which most people who have clients or other people directing the camera operator need.

I used one on a gig before and they sometimes lag or skip depending on how far you are.

Yea a HD wireless system that an operator or focus puller would use to do anything technical would easily cost $5500 dollars without a monitor. And that is a basic setup.

Anything less than that will either have a delay that makes it only good for video village or is standard def and hard to see perfect focus on.

I won't lie, I am considering buying one just for the hell of it. I am currently saving for an IDX Camwave and while I know it can't compete it might just be barely good enough.

Bryant -> I would just save up for a good HD Field Monitor and some long BNC / SDI cables.

I don't or haven't really seen a full need for Wireless Monitors. Even when being rover camera operator.
