With the all the PWCs out there, I'm sure I'd get a pounding if I were hanging out with a camera in my local beach doing what he's doing.

Its amazing what doors a smile and a friendly attitude can open.

With the culture and the atmosphere of Rio during the Carnival season, I'm sure the locals (which are already friendly and very open to begin with) are used to photographers and I bet its like shooting fish in a barrel in terms of acceptance of your presence. It'd be the same as shooting in a touristy area.

Since Stovall is nolonger with us I'll point out he's using an M9 which gives him almost magic powers. Of course having a film crew, film him while he shoots probably takes him out of the PWC catagory. So take a video crew with you next time

This is quite an interesting style and one that goes good for the city his is in. I think it would indeed be interesting though to just walk about downtown Houston during business hours and see the different wear people are walking around in.

I find this every interesting. I think he (from what I can see in the video) has a very interesting style and the selection of camera he uses is great for it. He keeps it simple and compact and that makes a huge difference. It truly is a totally different style in deed from other street photographers. The act of just shooting and moving on never looking back and not really caring portrays a different since behind his work. And I agree that the images he captures on 9/11 are some of the most hart filled and moving ones I've personally seen.

Love this thread. This should be sticky'd as you can learn so much from it.

I learn more from observing other photographers than any exif data dump could provide. Learning from exif data is counter productive anyways.
