that is pretty darn cool... thank you!

I do pretty good sometimes with that... but there are days where I just WANT to scream because all the photos have camera shake... ha yesterday was one of those days while trying to take a closed up shot of the habiscus...

Sonny have you tried it yet. This does look really neat....learning here lately that shooting on a lower speed calls for the rifle firing technique..Hold your breath....aim... squeeze..

Found that same article at diyphotography.net this weekend, bought twisted mason line, 4 washers, 3 bolts at Lowes. Haven't made one yet, have to learn that knot he used!

I am wondering though how to adapt this to the way I shoot which is 95% vertical .

Hmmmmm

Hey Dave,

Use a key ring and slip it on the end where your camera strap would go then tie the string to the key ring.

Interesting.

I wonder if it might work well using something elastic like surgical tubing. So to shoot at at different angle, you wouldn't have to move your foot up or down on the string to get tension.

I believe the whole point of the string is to minimize if not eliminate vertical movement.

True, good point.

I was thinking of the compromise between high tension and the hassle of having to adjust for every shot. Until you 'set' the string length for every shot with your foot, it's useless.

Interesting concept though.
