Hey guys...

I haven't built a website from scratch in a long time... this one is more geared towards the buisness side than the editorial side.

friendly thoughts....

Jason,

The picture on the main page is not centered in my browser but the menu etc is. I checked and this happens in two different browsers. I very much like the fact that it is clean, fast, and no flash. Of course for me, the .net address kills it but I am pretty anal about that.

I'm a flash freak, so this has an amateur-ish vibe to it, for me at least. Otherwise its clean, easy to navigate, and I didn't find any errors. Everything lined up for me, and I'm using Google Chrome.

yeah... strange thing is it is totally centered the way i want it in IE and chrome... but I can't seem to figure out why it isn't in Firefox... which is my browser of choice. That is a bit of a frustration. I'm sure it is a simple coding issue that I'm just not seeing the right way.

I didn't reeeeeeeeeeeeeally want the .net address either, but all the ones related to what I wanted to call it were taken already and I was wasnt about to pull the trigger on a .us or .biz address (no matter how cheap they were).

I still have the domain for www.jasonleepalmer.com (which was my main editorial site) but it doesn't match well with the facebook photo page name I created.

As for flash.... eh... i dunno. I'm sure I could find something that could work for me, but I get annoyed with the gimmicky photography flash sites out there. Some good dhtml and jquery suffices.

Thanks for the words guys...

Jason,

Actually, the off center problem I noticed in IE9, then verified in Shiretoko (basically a 64bit Firefox).

As for the .net, did you notice that photographybyjlp.com and photobyjlp.com are both available?

And to Chris, funny how people see things differently. In my opinion, which is worth a fraction of a penny in this economy, and with an IT background, Flash sites are the amateur-ish ones as they are done by people who know nothing more than point and click and can't bother to learn php, java, etc. Again, that is not meant to insult anyone, to each their own, that is just how I personnaly see things. What matters is does your advertising work, and excluding tens of millions of potential customers by using flash just seems like shooting yourself in the foot to me.

Looks good.

Might want to proof read the blog though... Couple of spelling/grammar issues.

True dat!

And thats why I recently moved to CMD, which has an iPhone/HTML mirror site.

I think I just like flash because its more visually stimulating for me.

So when you say it looks offcenter... what part exactly does?

I know that the page headers on the very top (home, weddings, etc.) are off a bit and that is on my checklist of things to adjust....

also the bullet points below the splash page slideshow are not centered in the slideshow...

but what about the slideshow itself... in my IE it is centered.. but firefox it isnt

Jason,

I was talking about the main page, the image that should be dead center of your screen, is off to the left by a good inch and a half to two inches. The menu at the top is just a little to the right, not bad though.
