Hello:

On your old site you had a pricing page that has your name on the city photo. I like that. I would take that picture and make it 780 pixels wide and about 75 pixels tall. Lay your name across that photo as your top banner for all your pages.

Then right under that I would have your links to all your pages so that they are side by side.

I wouldn't have check for availablity. I would have call me if and talk to me for availablity. You might get a client that you might have lost if you do have the check for availability.

On the Gallery the pictures need to be bigger and the thumbnail selection thing needs to be at the top of the photo and not the bottom so that it is not moving based on the picture size. the thumbnail thing needs to be wider so more tuhmbnails are visible.

I personally like the old site coloring better.

The photo upgrades are good.

Thanks Steve,
I added the Banner (I had actually forgot about that.)
the small galleries were done by PSCS2 so not too many changes I can do there other than resize the images and thumbnails
I like the black (thought it was more formal) as well but thought it was a little too dark after while
the availability checker is part of WeDJ and it has served me well in the past so I'll probably be keeping it but I probably won't put it on as many pages...

On your "check our availability" box, what's going on with the year numbering? "106-110"? And you might want to have a copyeditor go over the text... some of it was difficult to read smoothly. (FYI, you'll want to add a period at the end of the paragraph too.)

I thought the gallery was quite smooth. It was a bit of a transition though, going from dark background with light text to a basically white background with dark text.

Change the red text to something else. Red is too difficult to read.

You can reduce the space at the top of the page by adding topmargin = 0 in the body tag.

<body topmargin="0px" leftmargin="0px" rightmargin="0px" bottommargin="0px" >

That pargraph on your opening page is long and in small text. Maybe separate it out a bit, bullet some of the info. Don't thank me yet-- I haven't chosen Photographics-- I'm just viisting the website! ;)

I would be as short and sweet on page one as possible.

You have a bunch of short declarative sentences that aren't fun to read and don't really flow together... perhaps take the types of photography and turn them into a bulleted list, and maybe take out some of the extraneous info. Don't tell us anyone can take a picture (because then we might decide we don't need you after all), don't tell us you have a good personality for all kinds of jobs (let us decide that for ourselves).

For example,

PHOTOGRAPHICS: Affordable Professional Photographers

-Event Coverage
-Portraiture
-Real Estate

Available for Travel/Location assignments worldwide.

You have all of the other stuff covered in your links at the top.

When you list everything out as you have, it makes it harder for people to find what they want. You can be friendly AND concise :)

p.s.

You have no price list on your price list link. Why call it price lit if there is no price list?

Sports: Same text as the home page.

Again... I would go with a bulleted list approach rather than a paragraph approach in listing what you can do for people on the individual category pages.

thanks all...like I said, this is beta so I was making changes and needed a 2nd or 3rd set of eyes...I think I ready to take it live and if I could get a few more looks, it would be appreciated.

My work computer resolution is set to 1024 x 768 and the page doesn't fit even though you seem to have a lot blank space. Not too crazy about the background color or the font.
