Talking www.madshutter.com - 10-14-2006, 02:43 PM

I updated my site, address is here:

http://www.madshutter.com

with a new look, menu structure and galleries. I'd say 97% of the images online have been taken with my beloved D2x. Critiques and comments are most welcome, thanks in advance!

SITE UPDATED 11-14-06:
I posted an updated version of the site - now the slideshow is bigger, images are larger, there is a thumbnail navigation which should mitigate the "random effect" someone pointed out; as well, I tested it with Opera 9.02, FF 2.0, IE 6 & 7, all on WinXP and XP64 and it seems to be working fine (there were some page scrolling issues andthe like); as well, I found a workaround for the "click to activate control" issue that plagues Flash movies. As well, there are a gallery and a few new pictures for your enjoyment and the menus have been redesigned (more logical in structure, I think). Let me know what you think of those improvements (if improvements they are, of course LOL). Thanks to all that commented and for all the suggestions! Your help is always greatly appreciated

Nice look, clean and crisp. Fantastic domain name.

Slideshowpro drop downs look strange with the semi-transparent background on (behind text).

I think your headings might be a bit large.

There is no link back home.

You need more padding on the sides of your text (like on 'purchase'...you also have an odd page break on that page in FF 1.5 Win).

I like your about page - I never thought to compare instrumental with photography (concert cellist). I like the clean look, just wish there was a splash of color here and there.

On the pricing page the text goes down into the frame and there's not way to scroll (firefox on redhat.)

Hello Clayton,

sorry for the delayed reply - thank you for your comments and suggestions. I just posted a new(er) version of it which fixes the large headings; text padding and page breaks as well should work just fine in FF (tested with version 2 though). There was and still is a link back home, clicking on the header (Vieri Bottazzini Photographer) but it might not be clear enough. Let me know if it works any better now! thanks again,

Hello Holly, glad you found it interesting. As far as your suggestion, point is well noted - however, I thought to leave it with the most neutral possible colors in the site graphics to leave the color "talks" to the images... anyway, I will think about it. Thanks again!

Hey Amy, thank you for pointing this little bug out - I fixed it and tested it on FF2.0 (on Win though) and it now works fine. Let me know if the problem is still there. Thanks again!

Hey Orly, thanks for your comment. The idea was that there is not a specific order in which to view images, therefore I thought about having them set to random; but, I might rethink this over. Thanks again!

Nice site. My only suggestion is that you give people who visit the option of choosing to either contact you through your form OR directly through an email address and/or phone number. There are a lot of people who don't like to use forms on the web and will look for alternate means of contact every time.

Also, I would choose slightly different wording for the "mail the webmaster" link at the bottom of each page. Maybe "email me" or something more simplistic. The term "webmaster" has become synonomys with the person who manages your website for you and providing links to the person managing the site is not something most do any longer.

Good work overall.

Thank Jeff for your comment and suggestions - I will think about it and see what I can do to make the "contact" process easier and more flexible. Thanks again!

Hi,
I saw a few misspellings on there. I love the colors of it, it reminds me of a newspaper or something. Immediately made me think "journalist."

Thank you Michelle! Sorry for the misspelling, I check it a couple of times and to me it looked ok - but, again, english is not my first language; I would surely appreciate it if you would point me towards the mistakes. Thanks for stopping by and for commenting!
