Greetings All,

I have finally got my website up and running. It is still pretty rough, but in any case i would like to get your opinions on the whole thing.

Please be brutal if need be ... if you don't like a pic, or I can't spell .. let me know. I am not to hip to my name in the title, but it will have to do for now.

Thanks

Make the small icons on the left a thumbnail, I nearly missed them, and the icons on top need a "rollover" so you know what they are, Only the email icon is evident as to what it might be. Besides that, I like it. I was in Littleton last week. Nice little town. There is a slight chance i may be moving there after the first of the year.

You might want to fix the scrolling...(up & down) My site used to have that and it irks people, a lot. Other than that, I didnt see anything else. I wish I could tell those little boxes to the left had photos in them. I've seen that format often enough to know that there were images in them. You might want to add directions (for your unsavvy site viewers).

minor issues - 11-01-2006, 10:14 AM

Just cause you asked for opinions, here are a few of my observations. The sounds drive me crazy and seems unnecessary for a photography website. (I realize that I could turn them off, but honestly don't see the benefit of them being there in the first place.) Also, why do you have 2 galleries? I don't think that's very intuitive. I personally like it when galleries are organized by subject (eg. architecture, weddings, etc.)

Kinda just a minor rant-- I realize that flash websites are all the rage these days, but they're generally not that great at showcasing your work as a photographer. Just to show you how your website looks on my widescreen monitor, I'm including a screenshot. Personally I prefer websites that showcase the pictures themselves rather than the "framework" of your website.

Again, take it for what it's worth- just another opinion...

Thanks for the input. I am going to start making changes and hope to have the revamped site up in a week or so.

David - if you are out in CO, give me a shout.

By the way, I would consider retitling the "About Me" section to something like "About The Photographer". None of it is written in first person, so the "me" in the title seems off.

It's a minor thing, but if it bugged me, it might bug someone else too... just a thought.

Matt -- I know .. that's what bothers me about the URL ... way to long
Dan -- I like that idea ... I am going to talk about myself in the first person ... little more personable

Thanks for the input
