GO for it. What would you change? What do you not like? What could be better or different? I have a gallery and pricing for both portrait type work as well as general photos (landscapes, architecture, nature, etc.). Be tough, I'll take all feedback.

Thanks!!

I like the black background - it makes it look sharp.

Also - good idea not using names of children on your site in the gallery. Using generic terms is better, but Im not sure if you needed to write anything at all.

So far, so good!

Hey Ben,

Keep in mind that I am more of a web developer than a photographer, so I hope this doesn't sound harsh. You asked for tough...

The Good
- I agree that that black background is sharp.
- You take great photos.

The You-Might-Want-To-Reconsider
The site is boring. Most of the photos are too small to create any sense of drama. I know site loading times are an issue, but better to have 3 large photos than 10 small photos.
Viewing Photos - You have to do lots of clicking to view pictures. Consider some sort of software that will automate slideshows.
Choice of Photos - I know you are new to doing this professionally, but many of the shots look like candids of your family. Better to have 5 amazing photos that 50 pretty good ones. People only want to pay if they are convinced you can do something they can't.
Navigation - Portraits vs. Non-Portraits just feels weird. Either classify them into well known categories (Commercial, Sports, etc) or leave them off and only advertise yourself as a portrait photographer.

Hope it helps and I didn't deflate your balloon too much.

Jamie

I second everything that Jamie stated.

I think you're site would be greater with less images + a better gallery option. There are many out there that are free that do the job well and a few that cost under $100 that do it better :)

You may want to give your clients the option to download your price list in a pdf form too.
