I'm still putting this together, but initial thoughts would be appreciated. I'm very interested to see what the latency on the portfolio is like.

Thanks for you feedback.

Corby --

I like the concept. And it looks great. However, the gallery images load slow. I have a fast connection and fast PC, yet it seems to have a significant delay. My guess is you are loading high quality images - maybe they should be scaled down just a bit. Or perpahs each photo should display a "loading" message until the photo is loaded. Or perhaps you can preload images to the cache. I'm not a big fan of pre-loading tons of large images as it slows down other surfing requirements and consumes CPU which personally bugs me? However, I'm not a flash developer, so I can't say for sure that it's even possible.

The traditional pages probably don't need to be in flash, but they do provide a consistant design - which I am a huge fan of.

Contact info - probably only need to stick with traditional contact methods for a professional services website.

HTH,

Dave

It started running the automatic slide presentation for me and seemed to work fine. I did not see a way to pick them manually. When I first opened it, I could not get the portfolio button to work, then I clicked on the about and then portfolio and everything started working fine.

Hmmmf. I looked again and now they seem to load faster. Odd. Perhaps my connection was slow at the time. Or, perhaps they are in my browser's cache now.

To select images manually, click the number(s) below the image.

That was my problem. When I clicked the numbers nothing would happen. I will try it again.

Now it seems to be working fine. (clicking on numbers and doing it manually). the only problem I seem to have is when the home page opens, I click on portfolio and nothing happens. If I click on the about page or one of the other links, then I can click on portfolio and the photo gallery opens.

Having to click the flash object twice is an IE thing I think. The manual selection of images is a bug I need to fix. Thanks for the feedback.

On Slideshow pro, the portrait sized photos bother me becuase of the grea space on the left and right. A suggestion to fix that is to combine two portraits into one landscape photo.
