As it was absolutely required to make it through another shift in Iraq, I ended up dusting the code-enabled portion of my brain off and making a website for my photography business. Right now it is largely a test site, and I'd like some input as to flow/ease of use. I tried to design it to be as light-weight as possible, and easily maintained from anywhere I happen to be able to get a shell to my server.

Thanks,
Anthony

very nice anthony - but the text on the links on the right side 'buttons' is very small and pretty hard to read. i think if you used a non-script font.

Anthony, I like it. Agree with the comments about the text on the buttons. And the only other thing I noticed that would be nice...

When I was looking through your portfolio (nice photos!), I couldn't get from one area to another without going back to the Portfolio page first.

Thanks for your service! Much appreciated.

Thanks for the comments. The joys of modular snippets of code will be revisited in the near future, and I'll see if I can come up with an appropriate way to address the shortcomings. My goal was to be as lightweight as possible, while being easy to navigate, and straight to the point. The first part of that goal was undoubtedly accomplished, as the entire site is less than 3MB, and loads rather quickly even over this Iraqi vsat connection. I think I got the straight to the point bit as well, though it sounds like a near miss with regards to navigation. I'll see if I can come up with an aesthetically pleasing way to jump between portfolio pages without sacrificing vertical dimensions too much (hopefully there wasn't much, if any, scrolling required when viewing the photos.)

Patti, you're very welcome.

Thanks again,
Anthony

Anthony, Perfect! I could get from page to page without backtracking and all of the links that I tried worked just right. Now the only thing it needs is more of those great photos! I like all of them and I especially like the PJ work. The last one in the sandstorm is awesome!

Take care,

Additional content is priority #3 when I redeploy. #1 being spending time with my family, and #2 getting out of the Army. I can probably do all three at once though :)

Thanks,
Anthony

Very smooth, very fast site, Anthony! And great flow. The only thing that caught me was, on your portfolio pages, your main navigation is below the images and your intra-portfolio navigation was above. My natural inclination was to go to the top links to navigate the full site.

Other than that, very nice! Visual and to the point. I'd consider maybe finding ways to incorporate more text (descriptions, notes, photographer's thoughts, locations, etc.) just to put some extra search engine honey on there.

Thanks for the compliments and suggestions. I have intentions of including more "searchable" text based content in the future, but that'd require more coding and testing than I can squeeze into the free time I have here.
