I made a logo for my studio - I mainly do weddings and corporate events, and also a small amount of portraits.
Maybe the logo does not fit, since it is not classy or elegant? But it is geared towards the style I really like - which I try to do a bit edgier and modern - so I wanted it to be eye-catching.

I dont think it works.
To me its not only target to the wrong market
but the d in studios looks like a backwards upside down P.
Thus spelling StuPios.
Do you really want to know StuPios translates to ...
EL

Don't mean to be blunt, but it doesn't look professional at all. It may however be what you're after.

Better, but it still looks too busy, especially the 'SCS". The script 'S" (I assume it's an 'S") just doesn't fit with the 'SCS". Also, the gradient may look good on the website, but on a business card or a shirt... it may not look as good.
Good luck! | | | |

First looks a little grunge because of the lettering. For me the second is too sissy. Find a medium between the two and be a little edgy but formal enough to handle the more professional clients.

Technically speaking, neither neither soliution is really a logo. They are stylized typographic treatments of the studio name. "Logos" more often (not always) involve visual elements - pictographic symbology - usually in conjunction with text.
Speaking as a veteran graphic designer, I think you're struggling to make something work that isn't really there. Trying to connect the first letters is a common visual trap for non-designers, that seldom ever really works out well. Using the white/gray/black color blends is a good move toward the "silver" component of your name, but that too is causing you trouble. Hey, it's hard designing a good logo!
I'd recommend just picking a strong simple symbol, or combination of symbols, with a strong, easy to read text treatment.
Here's a possible solution of what I'm talking about...

See that's why I think I should stick to photography and not graphic arts.
I can easily pick up a diamond or crystal, give it to a bride/model and tell her "let's have some fun".
But when it comes to design - I am clueless. I think the problem is I have to come up with something on my own, and I don't know where to look or what to use for inspiration.
Anyhow, maybe I will think about symbols and see if I can come up with something.
The one you came up with Kevin is very nice - a bit on the corporate side of things - and I can see by your website that you are good at that.

Yes, that one is definitely too corporate; it was just an example. Hit me up sometime if you would like some help or just feedback on what you come up with.

Wish my company name was silver crystal studio just so I can use that awesome logo kevin! Thought that was really cool of you to do that. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
