Anyone use it? What are your thoughts? I'm diggin' their chili and thinking of opening up account to host images and wanted to get some feedback from my second family (my first family responded with "HOW DO YOU PUT FILM ON THE INTERWEBS?" so I don't think they'll be much help)

I have a premium account with them and am loving it.

I have recommended them to a bunch of my friends and TPF acquaintances and so far no complaints.

Heck even David Hobby from Strobist is pimping them so they must be doing something right =)

My only gripe is that when it comes to look and feel, you are limited to their termplates, you can't upload your own style sheets. But they do have a some pretty cool skins so its not really a big deal for me.

I think they have the slickest interface out of the all the other photo sharing/hosting services out there, absolutely loving it.

I have premium accounts at both Smugmug and Zenfolio. One will go when the years' up. I find lately I'm using Zenfolio more often and really like them. My customer service experience with them was stellar (Of course, Smugmug's CS was stellar also.) and using MPIX as their fulfillment lab puts them over the top for me.

Jim - what do you like about MPix over Bay Photo as a fulfillment house?

I would like to know, too. Smugmug claims that they had a double blind fulfillment house "taste test" contest in which Bay Photo blew away Mpix.

Since I've not used Bay Photo I can't say. I've never been disappointed in MPIX and I was using them before they fulfilled for Zenfolio.

I haven't printed anything from Smugmug in a while. Perhaps I should try and see what I think of Bay Photo.

Hello JG,

As you may already know, I have been using Zenfolio hosting service for organizing and presenting my photos online. You can view my home page at http://lghtning4u.zenfolio.com/

I think Zenfolio is a great service, and I recommend you open an account as well.

Some of the features Zenfolio offers are:
- Unlimited storage
- Elegant pages with a choice of layouts and theme designs
- Highest quality presentation of photos online
- Easy to use intuitive interface
- Full screen Slideshow
- Links from auctions, blogs, and forums to seven different image sizes

You can use my referral code 5PJ-NV1-68U during sign up to save $5 off your own subscription. That will also earn me $5 in credits toward Zenfolio services. Once subscribed, you'll get your own code, and if you get enough referrals, you may never need to pay for the service again.

Zenfolio offers a Free Trial account for two weeks so you can see if you like it.

http://www.zenfolio.com

Regards,

- Michael

Hey Mike thanks for the referral #! I was just about to ask if anyone would like to make a few bucks, cause I was about to get an account (probably in a few weeks, after the trial ends).

One question. I see that a lot of photographers pages look really busy and overwhelming is there a way around this?

Okay, two questions...
Also, is there a way to create password protected galleries (I have a corporation shoot for the holidays and they want this feature)?

Hello Dan
Thanks for using my referral Dan. The site is very customizable and they continue to keep making it better.

There is the ability to password protect any or all galleries. I use this feature for my personal photos.

When your site is up, send me the link so I can check it out. Good luck!

Can you upgrade from from Unlimited to Premium anytime? And if so, well they charge you the full 100 dollars for just the remainder?

Does anyone know?
