BluDomain Contact Page - 11-14-2009, 07:28 PM

OK, this sounds like a dumb question, but Im thinking that all my emails via the contact page arent getting to me. I know some have a serious delay if it shows up at all. I was playing with something and contacted myself via my website form a couple of times trying to format the autoreply.

Short version - not all the inquires came through.

This is for my Abilene Boudoir site.

Its on my server. Is this a blu problem with the template or a server issue?

I don't really see how this could be a template problem - I would guess network/server issues myself. At least that is where I would start.

It could be a form issue not working on all browsers but I would start off with the server. When you say my server are you saying you host your own site? If not I would call cust. service.

Yes, my site is NOT hosted w/ Blu. I have our sites on another server.

I have no idea what is going on. 1st problem - the auto-responder is having a 48 hour-ish delay. A couple of the emails showed up today (I used the contact form myself). 2nd problem, my inquiries arent always coming through. Some I never even got. I had no idea that was even possible.

So, the auto-responder...what would you think the problem is there? email related? no, right? it doesnt use my email if the template is generating the response email? I have no idea about this stuff. Somebody give me a clue.

Who does your hosting? I would start there. Check the DNS and SMTP settings first. Make sure none of those have changed or are incorrect. Then check the server itself - what is the system utilization? Could it be dropping anything because it is maxed out?

Holly I would check to make sure that your mail box allotment is not full.
I know that my hosting company has a default amount of memory that I can use. It is set to a very small amount by default but can be changed by anyone who has the proper authority to that server.
They are usually password protected and require the user name as well.
I can go in and add additional memory to any email account that is set up through my domain. I would try this first.

Kinda like MS Outlook. When the mailbox is too full everything stops working or it goes extremely slooooooooooooow.

Let me know...
