Question ProPhoto Blogs? - 01-24-2010, 07:20 AM

What makes ProPhoto blogs so desireable if they are just a WordPress blog? I've already got a WP blog with the Tofurious theme. Does ProPhoto make it easier to customize/update your blog?

The pro photo interface makes it easier to get your theme setup, and they work in some other neat features as well (flash header, disabling right clicking of photos, twitter integration, etc). Some of these "features" may be available as plugins/widgets, but with the prophoto blog they're built in. If you're using another site like bludomain or other portfolio site as your main website, then prophoto makes it easy to make your blog look like the rest of your website.

Personally, I use my pro photo blog as my website.

after using various other wordpress themes, i decided to go with prophoto. i'm still in the process of customizing it and it probably is overkill for mostly personal, but the final product i feel is worth it. btw, here is a $10 off coupon code - DUSCHO453

This is a very old post. Since then I've become quite happy with my WordPress blog. I have a self hosted WP blog, and I purchased the PhotoPressPro theme from one of our local Texas designers. Luke Weese is in Longview if I'm not mistaken. If I remember correctly it was a mere $50 and has given me everything that I needed. An EXTREMELY user friendly 'dashboard' for customization, TONS of customization options, right click disable, slideshow header, font options, background options, and most importantly AFFORDABILITY. I'm so glad I didn't go and spend the amount of money that NetRivet charges for their ProPhoto themes.
