I posted my new website design for CC a week ago, but only received one input from TPFers. I'm giving it one more try. This time with a flyer/business card design. Would appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
To blur the leftside or not to blur? Hmmm....

two schools of thought.
1- image is overpowering. Your information is too small to make an impression.
2- image is attention getting. A small info box makes the viewer focus on the information.
I'm torn between the two schools. It doesn't mention your name. The name should be something memorable or noteworthy.
If you have problems with people going to a porn site by mistake you might need to emphasize your URL.....not minimize it.
I'm not crazy about the OOF figure. It would be fine as a background to a bigger version of your info.

| That's your bigger problem IMHO.
Some other quick thoughts: Needs your name. Bump the size up a point. I don't care for the type going through the hand. Image is a little cool.

Couldn't get the guy to sell his domain to me and I'm already operating the business with the new name. Thanks for your input Mark. I will probably try to update the design this weekend with a logo.

I agree with above, the NET and COM mixup will bring nothing but trouble (usually people automatically visit the COM instead of a NET). Have you considered zazaphoto.com (availble btw) or similar, or even rebanding to something unique if you're not too attached to the name (as zaza studios already bring up several other services with that name).
On the subject of the flyer/card... it doesn't convey anything about photography or what it's about, hint that it's photography related otherwise people wouldn't have a reason to visit a site or call. As far as the photos, just feel like their a bit too soft.. or maybe that's just a personal thing.

I'm really considering changing the branding now.... ugh... it's such a hassle...

Does the word photography in "Studio Zaza Photography" sound redundant? I'm trying to avoid domain name confusion with 3 other businesses similar to mine.
This is my final draft of the post card. What do you think? | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
