I am trying to find a baackground for my website that I like. I have found one but I am not sure if it is to subtle. Can some of you have a look and tell me what you think? The idea for me is to have something other than a solid BG but not one that is so busy it draws your attention. You should notice it, but you shouldnt... If you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance...

I notice it a little more than I would like. Maybe cause Im trying not to notice it or maybe cause you asked... don't know.

Try a gradient fade to black. That is: start with the design at the top and fade to black, set the background to black underneath that and then set the background to repeat only horizontally.

If you like it like it is then that is what matters.

Thanks for looking, I like it but was worried because I am looking at it on my monitor at work (uncaled) with a little glare from the windows behind me and its hard to see.

Perhaps tone it down about 10%.

i dont like it the way it currently is set either...

if you like the background itself...i would suggest adding a solid box around the blog entries themself, if you get what im saying...so that the background is more of a border.

on another note, you didnt ask for it in this thread...but since the url itself goes to a blog type page, im a little confused by the blog link at the top (which goes to a blank page).

Its a little busy to me. Just the flowers pop out, then I see the rest of the design.

if you leave it like it is...or do the gradient fade thing, i think it wouldnt be so bad if the background were "fixed" and only the text/blog entries scrolled?

I like it, but I agree to tone it down just a bit.

Just a note though, the pattern itself is girlie, with the swirls and flowers. People who come to your site may mistake you for a girl photographer. Just something to think about.

I agree with toning it down just a little, and also the thing that bothered me the most was the jaggies on your name.

Yeah, I am having a hard time with that one. I havent figured out this theme completely yet and the help pages arent so good. I would like the BG to stay stationary and the blog to scroll but I havent nail the code down for that yet.

Thanks, I agree its a bit girly but I just havent found a pattern that I like thats manly. I mean I like the typical one you see on a lot of WP blogs but I dont want to be just like everyone elses.
