What's the least expensive web photo gallery? - 09-16-2010, 09:18 AM

I currently use pictage and I feel with the monthly fees and the price gouging they do on the sales is too much. Im looking to post my wedding gallery's with another company. I would like to sell the prints and not give the majority of the profit to the web gallery company. Does anyone have a better solution?

Another vote for Zenfolio. I love that they use MPIX for print fulfillment.

Vast Majority of Artists - no matter what kind - are in the same boat as you.
You can make own online gallery w/ HTML and host a website for as low as $10/ month + internet fees but most will still not see real meaningful gains.
The market is supersaturated and the only thing you can do about it is ...
get a real job that pays well and use it to support your PT photo biz.
Thats what most successful photographers do{including some very well know types on the 20th Century}.
A few others own their own physical gallery {but most opperate a storefront at a loss}.

If you just want to show your images Smug mug (its free). If you decide to sell you can upgrade.

Don't think Smugmug is free anymore. For a pro account (ability to set your own prices) it is $150/year. And you get unlimited storage. They take 15% fee for order fulfillment, which is very much worth it to me. I've been with them going on 6 years and love it.

Flickr if you lazy, and if not - own hosting (few bucks a month) + coppermine (free) gallery script installed.

plus it lets clients pay you via paypal. get a paypal debit card (acts like a checkcard from your bank) = instant ability to use your funds with no wait, as soon as an order is placed.
