FrontPage works well for me...I don't like their predesigned templates, but use it to build out the pages manually using photoshop to create any icons I need, using tables to layout the site, etc. There are also a ton of templates (software and other options) you can often use for free or a small fee.

Gah. I hate FrontPage. Much prefer things like Dreamweaver, or often editing the raw HTML. Bad experiences with Frontpage over the years.

But then, I'm a computer geek. :) Use what works for you. If you don't want to buy FrontPage, there are a lot of free or nearly-free webpage/website editors out there, such as the completely free GPL-licensed Nvu. Check their screenshots page.

I've been using CoffeeCup HTML editor. Their software is reasonably priced, and they also have several different add-ons you can get, including a Flash Photo Gallery. What I like about them is that it's primarily basic HTML, so the coding is pretty clean. Purchased a couple of templates from AllWebCo (they incorporate Flash, Javascript and HTML).

Last I checked FP was a lot cheaper than DreamWeaver. I used CoffeeCup a long time ago, I think that's a good choice too, and I'm sure their current version is even better than what I saw several years ago.

If you are serious about doing your own page: learn CSS and HTML. If you page is done 'right', you can completely change the look and feel by just editing the master style sheet.

If it is a page for commercial use, hire a web designer to build/maintain the page. Do you want to spend your time doing your income producing activities or mucking about with the web site?

Tell me what you love about Exposure Manager. I was just today looking at it. It doesn't have good examples or templates like Smugmug does. But EM costs less and has the ability to choose if you want to print yourself or not. Do you have a web site there I can view? Do you have links you can give that I can view other peoples EM sites?

Here's the site of one TPF member. I don't think he's done much with the site at all as far as customization, so it's pretty much stock.

Of course I could be wrong...
