Setting up BluDomain - 09-22-2008, 07:16 PM

Ugh... so, I'm not exactly literate when it comes to websites or designing them, so I'm having kind of a hard time here.

I got this email from BluDomain:

Quote:
***Please read this note first!!!*******

*********We have your setup complete, however, we need to be able to verify that everything is working properly. So, please either point your domain to that account or provide us with a temporary link that will allow us to view the site. Please email me once this is done. Your site is not finished
Thank you
Daniel ***********

*includes links to my website and the link to change stuff, neither work*
I ask him what he means, because I don't have a clue what he's talking about. He says:

Quote:
You will need to talk to your hosting company about getting the links i provided online. They should be able to help you with this matter.
thanks
I call GoDaddy, and they don't have a clue what he's talking about either. I told him this, and haven't gotten a response.

Anyone know what he's talking about? They have the login and password to my GoDaddy portal, dunno why he can't just login and do whatever it is he's telling me to do himself.

You need to go to your domain provider and change your 2 DNS entries to your hosting where bludomain files are located.

so if godaddy is who you bought your domain through you need to change your dns entries to point to your bludomain host.

Yeah, but isn't that why I gave bludomain my login and password?

I don't know where the bludomain files are located 0_o

What I think they're saying is that they have it on your server with GoDaddy, but your domain name is not "pointing" at the right place yet. You can ask GoDaddy what your site name is (sometimes something like "godaddy.com/~yourusername") so that you can view what they've uploaded to make sure everything is working right.

Ah, figured out what he was talking about finally... my DNS record was still pointing at Photobiz's stuff. At least I learned something!
