Lost "Real" job - Anyone want a 2nd shooter? - 08-04-2009, 07:24 PM

After 12 years at my (up til today) current job (AutoCAD), I was one of 20 people let go today. I'm the only bread winner in my family, so I'm going to be doing something to make ends meet.
I think I'm real good with details, and I'm dependable.
Take a look at the few weddings I have done, and if you can use me, I'd love the opportunity to bring in a few extra dollars on the side.

I shoot with a Canon XTi, and Sigma 24-70 f/2.8, nifty fifty, and a Canon 18-55 IS f/3.5 & Canon 430EX

Thanks,

Jerry

sorry to hear that. make sure you put yourself on the 2nd shooter thread too. you may also find a photog in your area that is shooting alot of weddings and see if they'll give you a trial run at a wedding. once you get your foot in the door, they like you, and your styles are blendable then you have more repeat shoots with the same studio. do that with a couple of studios and you may be shooting more than you want to. ;o) be proactive if you want to make some bread and butter doing photography. the market is extremely competitive and those who sit back become wallflowers. 2nd shooter thread, call photogs, meet up with a couple...get to it!

So sorry to hear that Jerry. I'll keep you in mind if I need some help. And definitely file for unemployment!

That stinks! I've been partially employed now for more than a year. It gets easier as time goes by.
