Old Style Wedding Album - 08-31-2009, 09:17 AM

I have a client that wants to replace their 40-year old wedding album with a similar style to what they have. Their current album is white with mounts for 8x10 prints. Does anyone know where I can order these?

artleather (assuming they got their act together) has really nice traditional albums. TAP is a cheaper option.

I'm all for providing what the clients want, but have you considered asking them about a new (and new-style) album that incorporates their original wedding images, and then recent ones marking the anniversary? With family? And maybe even a brief narrative about their lives together?

They might be open to that sort of thing and may not know what's possible. That way they'd have a new album preserving the original photos and a printed album taking it to another level.

Art leather seems to be doing fine lately. You might also try AlbumsInc.com. They have several albums to choose from and may have the one you are trying to match.

On the inside cover of the last page the manufacturer usually put the name of th album.

I think that is the AL way of doing things. I can't tell you how many times in 28 years that I have been in the business, that AL has fired their reps and hired a whole new crop. I know of at least three times that they did that and they just did it again late last year and the beginning of this year. Seems a bad way of doing business but they keep doing it.

They filed for bankruptcy protection (who hasn't) two years ago, but have continued to operate. They still make the best digital album in the world with the Montage Art Album. And since they only bill me when they complete and ship the album it is not a problem for me.
