Need 2 Second Shooters THIS WEEKEND (4/24) DFW - 04-19-2010, 03:41 PM

Hey Guys,

My company has 2 weddings this weekend and I am going to need 2 different shooters for both all day events.

One of them is in Southlake, the other is in Keller.

This is a position for someone who has done weddings already. It is obviously a paid position.

Due to some mishaps in the past, shooters will not be allowed to put images online (maybe at a later date, well after the wedding, but that will need our permission first). You will be free to use them in a print portfolio.

Please PM me with:
Name, gender, gear list, desired pay rate, and a portfolio.

If you are looking to "tag-along" I am more then open to that. But the only thing is that you will not be able to shoot. It would be a good way to learn weddings from a photogs standpoint and I would be more then willing to answer questions. You would be expected to help out and carry bags or such every now and again.

Thanks!
Jon

Second shooter/tag along - 04-19-2010, 06:58 PM

Hi. I would love to tag along to one of your weddings this weekend (or any really). I still have a lot to learn and I am willing to tote around and help set up in exchange for learning. :) Please take a look at my website.

P.S. I'm open to the second shooter position as well. ;)

10 hours of wedding coverage for $500. You gotta charge more, Amanda.

I know it is WAY too cheap, but I don't want to mislead anyone into thinking I have more experience than what I have. I am just starting out and I am not in the same league as you guys and gals. I want and need to learn a lot more.

So if anyone will let me tag along....I would really really really appreciate it. :)

BTW...I read the post the other day about the top 10 ways to fail as a photographer...charging $500...oops. I guess I really do need to change that.

Not trying to pick on you, Amanda. Most of us have been in your shoes. My advice is to not offer your professional services until you are ready to charge the fair market rate. You might get some experience at a $500 wedding, but that will only serve to lock you into those kinds of weddings. Believe me, budget clients will typically (not always) cost you much, much more in pain and frustration.

Thanks, I am taking your advice as well as others. I'm going to slow down and look for more learning and second (third) shooting opportunities.
