Providing images to venue owners. - 12-29-2010, 01:08 PM

Hi there,
Some advise would be appreciated.
I did a wedding in October and the brides mother is wanting me to supply some images to the owner of the venue for some bridal show / publication.
How do other photographers handle this type of request? Do you charge for the images provided? Do you put your logo on the images? Do you provide some kind of release?
Please answer the above questions before reading on. :-)

I did the wedding in October and they still have not ordered any prints even though that love the images. Knowing this would that change your answers above.

Many thanks for your time and input.

Tony

I provide watermarked web images for venue websites or products such as albums for them to display. I would allow for publication with written agreement that they credit me but that hasn't happened yet.

I have booked several weddings from venue websites, so I recommend it.

I would deal directly with the venue, not through the mother of the bride. Not that you would, but just wanted to put that out there.

Agreed. I had a hair/makeup artist pester a bride about images recently and I just told her to have them contact me directly.
