This summer I agreed to shoot a wedding gratis for a reluctant hobbiest shooter's first wedding. So I get this email last night:

So now I am doubly glad you shot that wedding with me. I went to pull the photos off my sd card to begin editing and ALL my pictures are missing!! I took some photos after the wedding night and all those are gone too. The entire card is empty. I almost totally freaked out til I remembered there's you! Still I am so upset about this, I was excited to see how they came out and do some fun things with them in editing. Have you gone thru any of them yet? I'll feel a tad more at ease once I hear from you and am certain Beth still has pictures from her wedding. I just can't believe this. I've never had this happen before.

Hope to talk with you soon!

I have already responded to her to hang on to the card and do nothing else with it to see if we can use recovery techniques to get those images back.

My first wedding I was so paranoid about making the sure the photos were on my computer and on CD that I spent an extra 4-5 hours that very night (into the next morning) loading things after a 15 hour day of shooting. I think the suspense this past months would have been killing me... hope all works out and everything is recovered!
