Order of Wedding Photos - 03-09-2011, 02:20 AM

So thought I would pick the brain of those here who have been doing this a lot longer than some of us. I was curious as to what works best in the order in which you take your wedding photos.

Not necessarily a list, but the order of which you take certain shots. For example, is it easier to take all the groomsman pics way in advanced, then go to the bride getting ready? Or how about some of bride and family before ceremony, or would it work all during break between ceremony and reception?

Just looking for best practices, what has worked well, what did not work, etc.

So much depends upon individual circumstances. Just go with the flow. If the family will allow formals before the ceremony, go for it.

It helps to have a list of what you need for each location or circumstance, but leave time for adjustments as needed.

Yup. There is no way you can do it the same at every wedding. Ideally I do as many portraits pre-ceremony as possible.
