Unhappy Bridal portrait locations close to Abilene? - 04-07-2011, 11:29 PM

Hi friends! I'm a college student who is also running a wedding photography business on the side..I'm originally from Dallas so location spots were easy, but I've recently moved to Abilene and I have NO idea WHERE to begin. I'm supposed to have a shoot on Saturday and I drove around for hours today looking for some place rustic, and barn yard like...which seems like it should be easy considering this is west TX. Any way, I have already checked out down town Abilene..I was thinking of driving out to Shackleford county or Lake Ft Phantom..I'm desperately looking for some place rustic, preferably a run down barn. Something classic and western. If anyone has ANY information, ideas or addresses PLEASE let me know. I would be so so grateful. I'm truly freaking out and I'm down to the final straw with time!

Try driving towards Buffalo Gap or Rising Star. There are a lot of old barns on the way to RS, but you might get shot if u dont ask the property owner. The barns Im remembering are if you take I-20 to 16. I think they are on 16. We've shot in RS a lot.

I personally LOVE BG. The whole town is rustic. You can shoot in front of Lola's or at the Perini Ranch up by the building. It has the weathered barn look from the outside. Not sure if they charge a location fee. Go check them out.

There is Abilene State Park. There are also nice buildings at ACU that have nice stair ways, and probably the other local colleges, but I'm not familar with them. You can also take some nice Bridals at a good hotel (I've done that before). There are also some nice local parks in Abilene.

What college are you attending in Abilene?
