Wild flowers - 05-07-2011, 12:38 PM

Anyone know of any areas around Plano, Frisco, McKinney where there are some wild flowers? I have a stylized bridal session coming up, and she wants a field of wild flowers. I'm going to try to drive around tomorrow, but I just haven't had time. It's been a bit nuts.

Hmm the only ones I've really seen that could be in a decent place is in Richardson. Like there is a good sized patch near Foxboro park/the nature trail at Plano Rd and Braeburn. Otherwise I only see them in medians lol

A friend was driving while we were in Richardson the other day. I wasn't really paying attention to where where were, but I saw a great place with wild flowers at 75 and Arapaho (*I THINK*). If I remember correctly, it was West of the Richardson library.

I also HEARD of a field with wild flowers at Shiloh and 190 in Richardson. (Never seen it first hand.)

If you only need smaller patches of wild flowers, like maybe 40x40 in size, send me a PM. I know some places around Allen. One is a very large median, but there is parking nearby and it is big enough so you won't capture vehicles in the images.

Good Luck!

Yes, Arapaho and 75 SW corner there is a large field. There is also one by the bridge on Renner Road toward Murphy which is on a long incline that would give a very clean background of flowers. I saw a photographer out there this morning.

Khatley,

Can you give a more detailed location on the wild flower field on Renner road?

the top corner of Breckenridge Park, big bridge...you can't miss it. It's between Murphy Road and 190 on Renner.

I second the flowers at breckenridge... but I was just at shiloh and 190 a week ago and the only flowers left looked like weird weeds/grass. Breckenridge had a bunch of poppies and other flowers when I went there the same day. There were also a bunch of lily pads by one side of the lake. There is also a creek over there.

The pictures below are some flowers from breckenridge.

Leslie,
There's a few patches off of Renner and Brand Rd next to Breckinridge. I think its disappearing soon. It was really beautiful last week.

Also I don't know if these red flowers are still around but I took these in Frisco and Dallas North Tollway at JC Penny headquarter.

Wow, those are really pretty, Chantal! Thanks for the info everyone. I will drive by these spots on Sunday and hope they are still there.
