I need advice for a friend..... - 05-20-2011, 11:32 AM

My friend is approaching her one year wedding anniversary and has still not received her wedding pictures from her photographer. She calls and emails with no answer.

This is a VERY well known photographer in the DFW area, and even posts on this forum.

She asked me for advice the other day, and am not sure how to respond. ANY ADVICE would be greatly appreciated!

THANKS!

There was a very similar thread a short while back. I think it was also a DFW photog. Can't seem to find it though...

Wow..I can't imagine. I have a bride bugging me to death about her disk and it's only been 3 weeks.

I'd tell her to check the contract and see if there is a timeline in the contract. I would say that the photographer is in breach of contract at this point. She could file a lawsuit and get the judge to order delivery of the photos or monetary damages.

Ryan,

Im so sorry this had happened to your friend...

Did you client have a contract that she signed from the photographer?
What was the time line given for the images?
Does this photographer have a studio your friend can go to, to talk with the photographer?

Again Im really sorry this has happend to your friend keep us updated on what happens.

Thanks! I will have to take my own look at the contract, but I do not believe a timeline for images was stated.
My friend does not live in Texas, so the casual visit to the studio is not the easiest thing to do.

Will keep you updated.

Looks like the thread was a little older than I though.

This has happened before with photographers and
unfortunately the only solution the other couples had was small claims court.

If this is the photographer I think it is, it was on the news. BUT, I saw her out shooting a client in McKinney the other day. I was shocked!

I would tell her to go to the DA, get a lawyer, call the new stations. check to see if there is a website dedicated to that photographer on camplaints and tell her to post.

So tired of this sort of thing happening.

Yep! Can you believe it? I thought maybe she had made everything right, but in searching, it seems she still hasn't made things right with her former clients.
