Anyone do album design ONLY? (Houston)

Do you or someone you know do primarily album design and delivery? (Houston area) We are looking to drop albums from our offerings and need someone to refer business to. We are not, however, looking to refer to other wedding photographers. It may be a long shot, but there it is. Thanks!

I was thinking why not just sub them out to someone- have them design, print, do all the legwork, and you mark them up a little. At least you'll be making something on them and won't even have to touch them.

why aren't you looking to refer to other wedding photographers - i'm curious. not that i can take on anything more than i have going on right now, but i have been doing this for a couple of other wedding photographers for years now. they way we handle it, is everything goes through the photographer and he uploads to an online proofing system and i really have no involvement with his customers.

so again...just curious.

I was wondering the same thing myself. Contract out to someone like Red Boot Design, or buy some pre-made wedding album templates, etc. Most the album vendors will either have design services or can refer you to a design service as well. Asuka uses Red Boot, Forbeyon has their own in-house design service, etc.

I can certainly understand wanting to contract that work out though. Graphical design is a very different skill set than photography.

Have you checked with some of the major labs? I'm pretty sure some of them offer this service. I think Pounds in DFW does, or did.
