DFW / North Texas Meetup?

I moved to the DFW / North Texas area last year. I'm finally getting settled in.

Anyways, when i lived in Detroit I would occasionally meet with other wedding photographers to have dinner and chat. It become a warm second family almost! I'd love to share stories about my work and exchange ideas. It's just a process of always learning.

I was hoping to do the same with this community in this area.

Would anyone be interested in meeting around the North Dallas / Plano area for monthly meetings?

Or do some you already meet for dinner or fun events together?

I used to have a coffee group that did this in the McKinney area. Unfortunately, everyone got busy and it fizzled out. We do have get togethers, occasionally.

We in the DFW area have kinda left the get togethers to "Brad". He seems to put one together about once a month. I think the last time it was in Grand Prairie. There is usually one in Addison every other month. You can see our Facebook group put together just for these GTG. Here is the group.

You could also meet with the Dallas PPA guild. The meeting itself is nice but that is not the best way to enjoy a GTG with other photographers. Here is the secret. Find out where the "cool" people are going AFTER the meeting. That is the real way to get to know and talk with other real photographers.

I started a lunch group a while back.. its died down attendance wise over the summer, but it will probably pick up again in the fall. We're going to Olive Garden in Grapevine for lunch on July 20th.

For dinner groups for pros... its hard to beat a local guild.. Dallas PPA or FW PPA .. there is also a wedding group that gets together I think third Tuesday evenings in Dallas. I don't know what that is, but I could find out if you are interested.
