No, I'm not talking about the heat, although I could since it will be out doors. I'm not actually talking about the shoot itself, but the post processing afterwards. It wasn't until I did the engagement shoot that I realized the bride has terrible skin. I briefly cleaned up the glaring issues and applied some PS actions that helped obscure some of the rest (see "Engagement with flash" post), which is ironic because she said one of the reasons for hiring me was that I did not over indulge in post processing. Apparently, her preference for a more natural look extends to her not using make up. If I clean up twenty zillion wedding photos, I might be post processing this shoot into next year. If I don't, the results will not please either them or me. Suggestions, please?

Be clear and upfront that your editing does not include post processing with skin touch ups because they would take an additional XX hours. Touch it up in a few to put on FB or your blog and that's it. If she would like you to do more, then charge her.

To add to Tom's post. Meet with her and show the "regularly" edited engagement pics. Maybe she'll like them. Important thing is to get her feedback and see what exactly she prefers. From there you'll know if you need to charge extra or not. The sooner expectations are set the easier for you to move forward.

And if for whatever reason you end up needing to edit twenty zillion photos, you can always outsource them to places like Retouchup.com

It's all about managing expectations. This is how I've been able to remain a "purist" when it comes to touchups
