A Tyler, TX Wedding...for less than $1000? - 08-02-2007, 11:26 AM

Hey guys...

A friend of a friend is looking for someone to shoot her December wedding in Tyler, TX (and for right now I'm assuming this means wedding/bridal portraits)...for under 1,000. Does anyone shoot for that price...in that area? It's about 100 miles east of Dallas, for those who might not know. So...anyway...I thought I'd look here for her, because I know some of you guys are incredible shooters. I can't make any final decisions, but I thought I'd link her to a few websites/portfolios/galleries for her to check out to make a selection!

Thanks, y'all!

Hmmmm...maybe I should think about weddings again. $1,000 sounds like a lot of money to me. But I wouldn't do them the way Y'all do.

On the other hand I said I would never ever do another wedding. I hope you're friend's friend finds what she is looking for.

What are her expectations afterwards. She looking for the dig files, prints included or not? I might be interested since all of my family is there.

I just got a little more info from my friend who's friend is the one getting married. (:

"the wedding is december 15th at 1:00 at colonial hills in tyler, reception at hollytree - and they'll be out 100% BY 4:00 at the extreme latest (b/c hollytree has another wedding :) "

I would GUESS that she might want the photog to do some 'getting ready' shots and some portraits before, So you're probably looking at 4-5 hours? I'm not sure of her expectations as far as photo album/prints/digital...because I haven't talked to HER...but I'm definitely going to send her everyone who's messaged me...and anyone else who sends me something...so she can look through prices and services.

I wish I had more info. /:

Oh well. Thanks for being so willing and friendly guys. I wish I had gotten someone on here to shoot my own wedding! Lol.

I am new to this forum, but I am familar with the Tyler area and would be interested in talking with your friend if she has not found anyone to take her pics.

Sorry I haven't been around this weekend, I've been sick! I am overwhelmed by the number of responses I've gotten...and I want to thank you all for it! As soon as I hear something I will do my best to let you all know....or the bride will! She's still looking all of you over, as far as I know (anyone who posted here or PM'd me prior to this post).

So...I THANK you for all of the responses. I don't want to overwhelm her though, so I think I'm going to "close this thread" to new responses. I mean, not really close it, because I don't know how...and I think it's a valuable thread to the forum...but close it as in...I don't want her to have more than 20 people to look through, because that can get confusing!

So...thank you (for the third time). Ha. And...I'll get back to you guys. IF anyone reading this has not sent me a PM yet and wishes to do so...I will review it, but I can't guarantee I'll send it to her since she already has so many.

Hope you understand! (:

Well...apparently, the bride....I'll let you read for yourself:

"Well mrs claire - after ALL of your handiwork (and dang, I do mean all!!!) - kristin had to go with the girl her cousin used. Apparently, this chic is the sister of kristin's grandmother's massuse & grandma threw a hissy fit b/c apparently she promised the massuse that kristin was using her. I think you know about the family drama & weddings ;)"

Katie (the friend I had been sending all the emails to, is archiving the emails so that when any of her other friends get married...she can find you guys. So..hopefully in the future, some of you will be getting some calls from Tyler, TX.

Sorry about this time. It's frustrating...but I had no control over it. ):

-Claire
