Album Pricing?

Ok, I don't shoot weddings, but I do shoot events.

And the event I'm being asked to shoot, the client is asking about an album, similar to what you would get at a wedding...

However, I'm unsure how to price it.

For starters, I can't find any information on where or how much it costs to print albums. I usually base all my prices on a per image basis + actual cost of media. However, with an album I might do it differently. Maybe on a per page basis or something.

But without knowing my actual printing cost, it's hard for me to come up with a cost model.

Any help would be appreciated.

Take a look here in the Business section for a great listing of various album vendors. Their costs vary with Blurb probably being one of the least expensive.

As far as markups go, it really depends on what you think your client can bear. And don't forget to factor in your labor to create the album itself.
