Nice Change of Pace - 03-01-2008, 06:46 AM

Last evening I shot a very small wedding, conducted by an older judge. I introduced myself ahead of time and asked if he had any problems with me using flash or any other parameters for photographers. His reply was something like - this ceremony will last about 13 minutes, but the photos are going to last a lifetime! And he indicated if I wanted him to move or anything during the ceremony just let him know!! Like wow! Once or twice during the ceremony he actually moved a bit so I could get some pictures! What a great attitude! And then afterwards he offered to take my picture with the bridal couple, so I let him! Just wanted to share something that made me feel pretty good.

it's great when you meet officials like that. They are wonderful to work with because they focus on the couple and their day and not their ego...

great, all i get are the internet preachers who think the camera is "invasive" on the couples special moment! it is nice to see people who get it now and then. can't wait to see the pics!

Thanks, Nathan and Michael. Unfortunately, pics will not be posted. The couple are really against their images on the web, and crossed it out of my contract, so I have to abide. That being said, they had an engaged couple as their guests and they are interested in having me photograph THEIR wedding this summer. Last night really turned out to be a nice deal all around.

So nice that they are, isn't it. Created a warm fuzzy feeling in me, when he told me that.
