Very good reason to be sure and photograph the grandparents, etc. It's probably the last/only time they'll all be dressed up, happy, etc. I know my wife treasures our photos with them in them.

But I guess it's not only about realizing the importance of the pictures, it's really the fact that a couple may not have the $$ to be luxurily spent in this area of their whole wedding. Especially in this economic crisis and the worst is yet to come. After all, there are a lot of other areas they need to spend $ on. Just like a wedding dress, it can be $300 - $5,000+ depending on budget....but for photography? I guess it doesn't have this wide range of offerings (?) unless the bride has one of you wonderful guys here as her friend?

Just my two cents.

They did that pre-Davids Bridal and internet shopping. Now its not worth it. You can get a cheap gown for less than renting a nice one.

I think financing and payment plans are going to be VERY important next year. I also think pairing with other venues and bridal shops to have these vendors repeating, you do NOT get a 2nd chance at photos is important. There are a million other ways to save money - the biggest being on catering/ food/ and boos that frees up funds.

At the end of the wedding, you have:
1. The groom
2. The dress
3. The photos

What are you gonna wear and look at again? The groom and the photos. (hey sugar!)

What's in the photos? The dress and the groom.

There is the wedding day trifecta.

I have found this to be very, very true in many cases.
